Cut plan for a typical 5.25-inch diameter core. When a new core arrives at NICL, scientists gather to examine and analyze it. Through the coordination of the NICL-SMO at the University of New Hampshire, principal investigators come to agreement on how a new core will be divided up for analysis before arriving at the lab.
